The US Senate declared 2006 as the “Year of Study Abroad.” As a study abroad school, CRROBS fundamentally believes that travel is educational and that the experiences that come from traveling and studying abroad are invaluable, plus we’ve seen it happen over and over! To help you make your travel plans that much easier CRROBS has put this Travel Page together.

Before you start, please remember:

  • You fly into San Jose International Airport (SJO);
  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your arrival date;
  • Your fly in date is the day BEFORE your course starts;
  • Your fly out date is the LAST day of course;
  • Although your flights can arrive and depart at what ever time is most convenient for flights and prices, PLEASE rememeber that the later you arrive the day before your course starts the less sleep you will get and the less prepared you will be to start your course early the next morning; and
  • If you are in a semester course, many of our students stay on a couple of days or a week to go back to their favorite CRROBS spot! So adjust your ticket accordingly or make sure you get a ticket that doesn't have penalties for switching flights.

CRROBS has partnered with Exito Travel, for those coming on course from the US to Costa Rica. Exito Travel specializes in just these flights and therefore has often better prices than Expedia, Travelocity, or any of the other online places. Exito has provided this page to find immediate prices. Just fill in the required information and Exito will give you a quote right now!

Also CRROBS recommends STA Travel, www.statravel.com/crrobs, because they specialize in student travel and the needs of young travelers. They also have the exclusive STA Travel Blue Ticket™, which is perfectly suited to the needs of the study abroad student. It offers incredible value through flexible conditions and global assistance to students who change their plans while abroad or before traveling. This is something that our students should really look into. Click on the STA Travel link above to get a quote for a fare.
