How to earn Academic credit through one of our courses:

Option One(Independent Study):

One method is through Independent Study. Independent Study credits are earned through the academic institution where you are currently enrolled. Credit may either be recognized as advanced-high school credit or intro-college credit (100-300 level). All credit should be approved through your academic institution to guarantee you will receive credit prior to attendance on course. If a CRROBS student wishes to obtain credit approval after course attendance, CRROBS cannot guarantee that credit will be approved.  Contact our Student Administrator at enrollment@crrobs.org for more information.

Option Two(Affiliate Credit):

The other method is to earn credit through affiliation with Western State College in Colorado. Many U.S. universities make it extremely difficult to receive independent credit from international programs. If you are unable to convince your college authorities that your experience is worth academic credit, you should know that Western State College in Colorado has an affiliation with Outward Bound International. Through this, they will (for the price of $125 per credit) extend credit through an official transcript from Western State College (i.e. Affiliated Credit). This will allow students who are not currently enrolled in a college, or whose college does not recognize Outward Bound courses, to receive credit through a U.S. university for the work they’ve done on their Outward Bound course in Costa Rica. These credits are transferable to the majority of universities in the U.S.
