Academic Credit
It is possible to earn academic credit on all Costa Rica Outward Bound Semester courses:

Leadership Semester
Water & Wave Semester
Tri-Country Semester
Summer Semester
There are two ways to earn academic credit:
Affiliate Credit through Western State College
Costa Rica Outward Bound and Outward Bound International have a partnership with Western State College in Colorado. If your college or university does not grant you independent study credits you may be able to receive affiliate credit from Western State College. Through this program you will receive an official transcript from Western State College. Credits are transferable to a majority of universities in the US, but students should check with their school to be sure their school does accept these credits. WSC charges $125 per credit.
For more information contact Erica Boucher at eboucher@western.edu.
Independent Study through Costa Rica Outward Bound

Independent study credits are earned through the academic institution where you are currently enrolled. Credit may either be recognized as advanced high school credit or intro college credit (100-300 level). All credit should be approved through your academic institution prior to attendance on course to guarantee that you will receive credit. If a Costa Rica Outward Bound student wishes to obtain credit approval after course attendance, Costa Rica Outward Bound cannot guarantee that credit will be approved.
