| Bocas Del Toro - October
28 - 30 |
Early
morning transfer by vans to the border crossing, where at the water's
edge you will board a passenger boat for the 45 minute ride to Bocas
Del Toro through the spectacular San-San Pond Sak Wetlands reserve.
Located in the Northernmost province of Panama, Bocas del Toro is
an area of 68 sparsely populated islands that are home to Guaymi/Ngobe
Indians, Kuna, Afro-Caribbean, Mestizo and white Panamanians. This
creates a melting pot of languages and cultures unique to this region.
Our days will be spent snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, surfing,
sea kayaking, experiencing the culture, a service project and simply
relaxing on pristine beaches. Accommodation in Bocas del Torro will
be two nights based at a local indigenous Guaymi/Ngobe village in
a large Palapa, which is an elevated wooden platform with a grass
thatch roof.

Outward Bound has been staying in the Solarte island village for
some time and often runs service projects here. Villagers welcome
groups and love the afternoon soccer or soft-ball matches. Day or
night, snorkeling and SCUBA diving are fantastic activities right
in front of the camp/palapa. One night will be at the world class
small resort Punta
Caracol Acqua Lodge. The unique rooms are built on
stilts over the water and you can snorkel right from your thatched
roof cabins!

| San Blas Islands - October
31 - November 2 |
Hop
on an early 45 minute intra-Panama flight to the capital, Panama
City, and then aboard another 30 minute small aircracft flight to
the San Blas Islands. The Kuna Indians have kept many of their traditions
intact over the last hundreds of years largely because of the remote
area where they live. The San Blas Islands is an archipelago of
hundreds of small islands spread over a 226 km area of coast along
the Panamanian Caribbean Coast. The sand, surf, and remote location
make these post-card perfect islands a magical place.
Our expedition will spend
time sailing or boat tours, snorkeling and relaxing. Isla Yandup
will be our base for this section of the itinerary. This idyllic
island, the size of a soccer field at the center of a cluster of
unpopulated islands stands the Sapibenega “The Kuna Lodge.” This
is the quintessential Kuna hotel and boasts the most luxurious accommodations/retreat
in the Province.
The 6 stand alone water front cabins are a stones throw from the
open-sided restaurant where we will dine on local delicacies including
flan, crab, octopus and lobster prepared in traditional style. 24-hour
solar electricity is also a big plus.

Early morning flight back to Panama City will have you back in
the city for a day to explore this urban splendor. Your last night
will be at the Hotel Continental.
