Gap years, a common tradition in most parts of Europe are becoming more and more popular in the United States and Canada. High school graduates are feeling more comfortable taking a year off before starting college or university to get focused and some international exposure. With the continuing globalization of the world economy, international experience is increasingly important both to employers and schools. And with lowering costs for traveling abroad it is becoming more practical and safe. In fact, the U.S. Senate declared 2006 as the “Year of Study Abroad.” As a Study Abroad school, CRROBS fundamentally believes that travel is educational and that the experiences which come from traveling and studying abroad are invaluable. For last decade we’ve seen it happen over and over.
