 15 Day Multi-Element
Setup(1 day):
• Arrive at the San Jose International Airport the day before course begins and our staff will be there to greet you and transfer you to our base.
• Duffle shuffle at our base, where your instructors will select appropriate gear for the trip.
• Depart early next morning to go hiking through the rainforest
Rainforest Element(4-5 days):
• Trek 5-10 miles per day through tropical cloud and rainforests with amazing views
• Learn about rainforest biology, natural history, conservation, backcountry skills, etc
• Group formations: setting up camp, meals, and nightly meetings
• Possible activities include tree climbing and waterfall rappeling
• Continual presence of Costa Rican instructor and bi-lingual lead instructor
• Interactive teaching style (language supplements, verbal and cultural immersion)
Mestizo Village Element (4-5 days):
• Homestay in Piedras Blancas – a remote Mestizo village nestled deep in primary rainforest.
• Possible Activities: solo (12-24 hours), cultural exchange, practice Spanish, community service, planting or harvesting traditional foods (bananas, rice, beans, sugar cane, cocoa, avocados, oranges, corn), preparation of traditional foods (milking cows and goats, grinding corn, hand-making tortillas on an open fire), playing soccer with kids, tree canopy climb, jungle waterfall rappel, medicinal plant hike with local shaman, and more!

Raft Element (2-3 days):
• Raft on the spectacular rainforest shrouded Savegre River
• Learn basic rafting techniques and safety in adrenalin-pumping class III rapids
• Empty out into the Pacific Ocean at our Base 2 camp at Manuel Antonio National Park

Surf Element (1-2 days):
• Surf introduction in Manuel Antonio
• Visit to beautiful MA national park
• Rest and relaxation sunbathing or fun in the sun surfing and boogie boarding, at a tropical beach paradise
• Transfer to San Jose (always a day before the course ends). The closing ceremonial dinner is held that evening.

Note: We reserve the right to alter our itineraries due to unusual water conditions, weather, other acts of God, or other cause. In all cases we will make every effort to substitute an activity or location with something comparable.
