Perspectives from students on Adult Adventures course Outward Bound

This course definitely exceeded my expectations. It was a great adventure vacation. CRROBS is everything it promises and more. I had the time of my life, making new friends; taking on challenges and coming through them in an incredibly beautiful setting. I got to fill up a water bottle from a water fall. Where else can you do that? The organization is very safety conscious and really works hard on the logistics to make sure each student has a great experience. There was a good level of difficulty. The training tips definitely helped. The instructors were outstanding, skilled and well-trained. They made the physical challenges fun. They were great at managing expectations regarding schedule changes and were very informative. It was a great cross-cultural experience with the homestays. There was a great blend of activities. The climbing activities were especially a great personal challenge for me. Rafting was one of the highlights. Overall, I found CRROBS to be a great opportunity to get outside the things in our lives that we take for granted and see not only the incredible diversity of the rainforest, but also another culture.

I loved the great hiking in beautiful country. It was very demanding (for me, anyway, which is what I wanted) and I enjoyed the camaraderie of a great trip through beautiful surroundings. I was able to get away and not think about my life at home and the office for a while—exactly what I wanted.

It was a wonderful, unique experience. The instructors were fantastic. They MADE this trip. I feel privileged to have met them both. The hiking was challenging, but I felt prepared. The physical challenge was really important for me. I surprised myself by how in shape I was. The homestays were great. It was amazing to watch the families in action
It’s a beautiful country. I got to see things I never could have seen any other way, like the Lopez family, rafting, and the tree-climb.

These past 8 days were truly the experience of a lifetime. I would absolutely recommend CRROBS. It was not only wonderful, but it was also a growth experience. The organization is so flexible and accommodating. I liked the contrast of a hardcore hike with the introspective spiritual sauna experience and camaraderie. I learned about the culture and way of life. I liked getting a pure perspective on the local culture
